The Department of Public Health - Dayton & Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Infant Mortality Task Force will be hosting their “EveryOne Should Turn One: Infant Mortality Conference,” September 22 and 23 at the Dayton Convention Center.
The goal of the conference is to engage professionals and the public in creating strategies to combat infant mortality. This will include increasing the community’s ability to enact and take action on policies that address the factors that contribute to infant mortality and poor maternal health outcomes. And inform the public about what they can do to have a successful birth and keep their babies safe through their first year of life.
Participants will learn about the significant disparity gap between the races and become informed about recommended prevention strategies. Topics include; Stress & Pre-Term Births, Improving Birth Outcomes, Responsible Fatherhood, Racism in Health Care, Doula Support, The Social Determinants of Health and more!
The Event is FREE and OPEN to both professionals and the public. There will be numerous breakout sessions throughout the day and includes free breakfast and lunch daily. Professionals will also be able to receive Continuing Education Credits.
